What is depression?
Depression can affect people in different ways and can be felt through feelings of sadness, mood swings and feeling low from time to time. Some people can have these feelings over a long period of time and sometimes with out any real reason. Depression is more than just a low mood – it's a serious illness that has an impact on both physical and mental health in the bush.
What can cause depression in the bush?
Exactly what causes depression can be hard to pin point, however we know that a number of factors can be associated to its development and cause. In the bush factors that can be associated to the cause of depression can be debt, drought, drug and alcohol and medical illness. Everyone is different and it is often a combination of factors that can lead to developing depression. Mustering Wellness is a platform to help open up the communication channels for education, help and awareness for depression in the bush.
